Today we have our first guest artist! My wife's cousins are visiting from Long Island and their daughter Jamie sent along some awesome drawings for me. I'm pretty amazed at her attention to shapes and the fact that she goes right to pen!! No pencil construction, just cranks it out with a pen. Brave young artist this one. Jamie's mouse drawing inspired me to give him a friend. Nice work Jamie!

I did actually draw this one yesterday. However I came home very late and my choice was between posting the picture (Which still needed color) or watching "Lost". Looks like "Lost" won!

Tonight SUCKED!! I couldn't draw for sh.. out of a paper bag. I didn't even paint some rows with a blue square it was that bad. I think just about all of them were horrible. So why post them? Hopefully some kid out there who randomly finds this site will look at it and say to himself, "If this joker thinks he can draw, maybe I can too." And then he'll pick up a pencil and become the next Michelangelo or Picasso and eventually thank me for his start in discovering his own genius. Hopefully something good will grow from all this B.S.

Tonight I went back to working out the monster. I'm just trying out some facial expressions.

Here are the exercises I promised. MAN ducks are hard. That stupid bill is a pain to get to look right at some angles. I really struggled with this one. Especially row two. It's even more sad to think that the ones that usually work best are the first in the series of each row. I actually became worse at drawing the damn thing instead of improving! (For those that don't know I mark the ones I think are working best in a row with a blue tint and the ones I think are working the least with an orange tint.) What the Fruck?

Day Nil

What a night. Sometimes I hate technology. Tonight my scanner decided not to work. It's getting too late, I'm a bit too deliriously tired to try and fix it. I have to get up early tomorrow and I still have to watch tonight's "Lost". So instead of me posting more exercises, of which you'll see tomorrow, you're getting a picture of my daughter. Enjoy!

More exercises today. I'm going to take a step back from my monster for a while. Mostly because I have some other priorities at night, such as installing a new OS! I am horrible at the technical side of things wish me luck. Besides doing exercises at lunch is easier and more cost effective than cheapening my monster ideas. I want to spend an appropriate amount of time doing the monster. So hopefully, at least this week, you can enjoy some more exercises. Good times.

Here's a pass at my monster that is more in line of what I'm going for. Still not sure about color. I'm just throwing solids up there for now.

Here's a first pass at my monster. It's a bit of a melting pot of the other animals. Not sure how I feel about it tonight. I'm going to have to take a few shots at him for the next few days. Color is still in question as well. So much fun.
